Ryan Croker Appeal Update

UPDATE:

The Charity Ride and Auction was a great success. Thanks to the Committee for all the work in organising everything, to the donors for their generosity, and the many bidders who kept the excitement level up. Lots more on our Facebook and on the Appeal Facebook site.

Last week in Moycullen we learned of an incident where young Ryan Croker of Tuairíni suffered serious injuries in a swimming pool accident in Australia. Mom,Kathleen, who was our Treasurer for many years and sister, Grace are out there with him at his bedside, while cousin, David Kearns (currently lined out on the home page) only back from WA last year is out too helping them find their way around. There are immediate medical hurdles to be overcome before a full picture can emerge, but it is clear whatever the final outcome maybe, Ryan is on the long road. It is a crisis no family wants emotionally nor financially.

The family's many friends can at least ease some of the financial worries by supporting a charity ride next Sunday Feb 9th leaving Dooleys Bar Moycullen at 1pm. Whether you ride a horse or not, please show your support by being there on the day to donate or help in any way you can. Anyone that wants to bake a cake, bring a craft item, donate anything for auction , etc. please let us know in advance.  Sponsorship cards are already being completed and the family and their supporters are grateful for the contributions to the auction already. Please share this far and wide to drum up as much support as possible. Keep an eye on this Facebook page for updates. Ryan Croker Appeal

A further event in aid Ryan's recovery are worth a mention. A 5k fun run is being organised on March 9th around the Baile Doite/Leagaun/Ballinhallia/Gorthachalla circuit. Event will be posted on RunIreland.ie and entry form will be available around the village.
