Most of the children scheduled to take part in the annual Fr Fitzgerald Cup competition duly arrived and indeed many brought their parents.
So much so that parking extended out along the roadway outside Páirc Maigh Cuilinn itself.

Both planned competitions the usual one for the older classes and the new competition for 2nd class went ahead.

In the larger competition, the team led by Aaron Connell won out and he can be seen on the right receiving his trophy from the nephew of the late Fr Fitzgerald, Norman Fitzgerald, while Club Coaching officer, Frank Enright keep an eye on proceedings. In the background, Tomás Higgins, Matt Donohue and Gary Bohan can be seen. All three along with Michael Hurney were able referees on the day. Below that are the members of the full victoious team

Directly below are the winners of the 2nd class competition

Aaron McDonagh, Niall McDonagh, Jake Fahey, Fiachra McDonagh,
Eamon Enright, Paul Kearns and Morgan Darcy
